1930’s Woven Wood Box Shipping Crate

$650.00

Description

The provenance of this box is a jaw dropper. This vintage 1930’s woven wood box was originally used as an industrial shipping crate.  In the late 1930’s, it was shipped from China to the Peth Candy Store in Milwaukee, Wisconsin full of baskets for Easter!  A descendant of the original candy store owner has had this in her possession for many decades.  This unique box would make a great statement piece or could be a one-of-a-kind table. It can be a unique piece of decor or home storage!

Condition: The piece has had some work to stabilize the form and keep the shape intact.  The modifications blend seamlessly into the original box. The box also has rope handles.
Size: 31.5″ wide X 21″ tall X 23.5″ deep
