This rare vintage 4-piece airplane bedroom set from Virginia House is probably from around the 1940s or 1950s. We haven’t been able to determine the exact year of manufacture.
The set includes the headboard and footboard for a twin size bed frame, a chest of drawers, and a dresser with mirror. We do have rails for the bed, but they may not be original to the set. The chest of drawers has five drawers, and the dresser has three drawers. The drawers have dovetail joints. The mirror attached to the dresser is a swivel mirror.
Each piece in the set has the motif of a DC-3 Bomber and propeller-shaped carvings. The drawer pulls resemble airplane wheels. It was probably originally intended for the bedroom of a young boy. An unusual and highly desirable design!
Condition: Good used condition.
