This charming vintage Royal Doulton jug is in the shape of a human face, based on a Charles Dickens character, Sairey Gamp, from Martin Chuzzlewit. Mrs Gamp is meant to be “dissolute, sloppy and generally drunk.” She looks happy to me! The character’s name is written on the back of the jug. The colors are bright and vibrant.
Size: 6.25 inches high by 7.5 inches wide.
Condition: She is in excellent used condition, no chips, cracks. Glaze is also in excellent shape, no crazing or fading.
