We have a fascinating Japanese Sumida Gawa pitcher and mugs set for sale! Sumida Gawa ware is a style of art pottery that was first produced in Japan towards the end of the 19th century. The major production of Sumida Gawa ware took place from 1890 through the 1920’s.
This style of pottery features raised figures or three dimensional designs. It is commonly embellished with signatures and good luck symbols. This particular set has raised elephant figures on both the pitcher and the mugs. The set contains 6 mugs with handles.
Size: The pitcher measures 12″ tall x 5″ wide. Each mug measures 5″ high and approximately 3″ wide.
Condition: Good used condition.
